We created the Facebook Group today, its called My Pet Whale

This is just one of many platforms that we will support in the coming months.

The goal here is to reach out to all existing whale groups and provide them with the tools they need to create a powerful alliance.

We are happy to have a home on Facebook please join us there and show your support for the whale community.

Community Building is at the heart of our purpose for mypetwhale.com

With the addition of Community Builder v1.1.0 New User profiles now support the addition of avatars, friends, link to articles, and more.

Facebook is great tool for viral community growth and we will be creating a group, and additional application for the platform.

The FaceBook API is a complicated one and we will need to collaborate with an experienced FB developer to get a the desired product.

Collaboration on Content Items.

Installed new forum from FIREBOARD.

This is a great component that we have used on previous community sites. There are many params for this – one of the things we thought was important was allowing all visitors to contribute to the forum.

One Exciting feature if this is the availibility of a mambot that will link all content items to forum topics.

With this new feature we will have the option of community-wide collaboration on all of the content items at MyPetWhale.

February 9, 2008 - Leave a Response

We created an item at TrendHunter.com announcing the coming interactivity with the whale community.

The initial letter to marine research teams was well recieved and the project is picking up new members.

  • We included a new message board for increased interactivity.
  • The new user menu allows registered community members to post articles for consideration of the front page.
  • We will be selecting a logo for the public release.
  • Hello Whale Community!
